Today, we are joined by Jonathan Hirtle, pioneer of the Outsourced Chief Investment Officer (OCIO) model and Executive Chairman at Hirtle, Callaghan & Co, a $20bn RIA whose growth has been solely driven by organic means and without the aid of outside capital.

Jonathan tells us about his days at Goldman Sachs, his early leap to independence, his lessons from the October 1987 crash, and the incredible impact of the OCIO model on the growth of his firm and in the broader industry. He dives into the main pillars of the OCIO model, including custom-designed programmes, global index cores, dynamic asset allocation, and the search for high-conviction managers, before delving into the core principles of his own investment philosophy and his macro outlook for the rest of 2023.

Prior to founding Hirtle Callaghan in 1988, Jonathan worked as Vice President at Goldman Sachs from 1982 to 1988. Previously, he served as an infantry officer in the United States Marine Corps from 1975 to 1982. Enjoy!
