Today, we are pleased to welcome Christian Magoon, CEO of Amplify ETFs, back to the show.
In this episode, Christian walks us through the fintech revolution in emerging markets, discussing how smartphone penetration and a young demographic are driving the sector in these regions. Christian explains why he thinks payment companies are the foundation of fintech in EM and why he sees exceptional growth potential in the digital asset space over the next 5 to 10 years. He also gives us a macro overview of the impact of the US dollar's performance on EM companies. Lastly, Christian discusses the Amplify Emerging Markets FinTech ETF [EMFQ], its objectives, sub-industries, and top holdings, including XP Inc, Mercado Libre, and Network International Holdings.
Christian has launched over 70 ETFs in the United States throughout his career so far. He has often been called an ‘ETF Pioneer’ by outlets such as The Financial Times and Financial Planning Magazine. He is also the founder of Magoon Capital, LLC. Previously, Christian was President of Claymore Securities, now Guggenheim Investments, where he led product development, marketing and distribution of ETFs, unit investment trusts and closed-end funds. Enjoy!
